The 28th Annual Herb Plant Sale of the New England Unit of The Herb Society of America will offer many varieties of perennial and annual herbs, heirloom plants, shade plants, ground covers and new varieties.
Herb Society members will be on hand to offer suggestions and advice on how to "spice up" your gardens with culinary, medicinal, fragrant and accent herbs.
The 2008 Herb of the Year - Calendula - will be available. Plants from member gardens - always popular -will be available also. Plan to arrive early for the best selection.
The proceeds from this fund-raiser will support educational projects, including the New England Unit’s Teaching Herb Garden at Elm Bank. This outdoor herb classroom (8000 square feet in size) is now seven years old. The garden features maturing collections of herbs and highlights their culinary, medicinal, fragrant and commercial uses.
The Herb Society of America, New England Unit, is a 501(c)(3) educational organization whose members are dedicated to promoting the knowledge, use and delight of herbs through educational programs, research, and sharing the experience of its members with the community.
